1. Sahndra is a scorpio. You know what they say.

 

2. Sahndra comes from the Nso tribe, in the NorthWest of Cameroon. (West/ Central Africa).

The role of Mildred in the Award-winning International feature film, by Koby Maxwell ''One night in Vegas'' opposite Jimmy Jean- Louis, Michael Blackson, Van Vicker, Yvonne Nelson, John Dumelo and Sarodj Bertin. This movie was spoken about by Washington Post, and won four awards out of the nine that it was nominated for at the African Oscars. It has premiered in several theatres, including SilverBird Cinema in Ghana on December 25th. Sahndra pulls a Viola Davis, by getting acclaimed remarks with one a little under two scenes in the entire movie. Some of these remarks include '' the best part of the film'' by several viewers, and many more.

Sahndra Fon Dufe is a Cameroonian-born author, actress, activist and business mogul. She  is  the CEO of  African Pictures International, and co-founder of Gifted Minds Africa Foundation.

 

The NAFCA nominated actress has been featured in several international feature films  like 'One Night in Vegas', 'Black November', 'Unconditional Love',  'Refugees' and 'Rejected'. She has been in several commercials including a National Commercial for American Cancer Society, Old Navy, and the Vow Foundation in Nigeria. Sahndra also appeared on GSN's Mind of A Man Show, and a Dove Skin Campaign in Times Square.  In 2004, The Commonwealth of Nations recognized her for  ‘Dear momma’ a poem, she wrote at the age of 13.

 

Sahndra became the youngest published female author from Central Africa, when her debut novel Yefon: The Red Necklace was published in May 2014, with a multi state US book tour. It later on became an Amazon Bestseller, and was featured in several prestigious author pavilions, including the NAACP and The Congressional Black Caucus.

 

Sahndra helps young women brand themselves as a solution to challenging stereotypes that young women find themselves faced with. She does this through several mediums including public speaking, vlogging and several written and spoken addresses to young women all over the continent, and in the diaspora.

 

Her  video blog Afrikan Girl Answers satirizes problems that young African women under 35 face. It also provides answers, tips and inspirational messages for young African women who need a mentor to look up to. This youthful forum is fast becoming one of Cameroon’s most watched vlogs.

 

The New York Film Academy Graduate also talks to families, organizations, companies and schools who by virtue of hiring or working with young women, must learn better ways to allow them discover their authenticity, hence their goals and visions.

 

Fon Dufe equally works at exposing the history, culture, and truth about Africa, women and the spirit within, and has partnered with several organizations like the American Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon to conduct "Know Your Craft" workshops, which attract artists from all over Africa. Cameroonian singer Said Barah has referred to her as "Young Oprah" in one of his songs called Sahndra Fon Dufe, in admiration for her creative ingenuity and inspirational influence for young women all over Africa.

Fon Dufe's first film roles were in local Cameroonian films like Standing the Rain (2009) and Two Princes (2010). She subsequently appeared in the Nollywood independent film Lost in Abroad (2012) and performed with Wyclef Jean,Akon, and Hakeem Kae-Kazim in Black November (2012).

 

At age 23, Fon Dufe's performance in the award-winning romantic comedy One Night in Vegas (2013) directed by John Ikem Uche and starring Jimmy Jean Louis,Sarodj Bertin, and Michael Blackson earned her a lot of attention for her portrayal of Van Vicker's wife, Mildred, a cancer patient trying to secure guardianship for her children before her death.

Other film roles include Yurika in Frank Rajah’s Refugees (2013) starring Yvonne Nelson, Kwuni in Unconditional Love (2013) with John Dumelo, Patience in the short film The Successor of Katunga.(2013) and Mirabel in 'Refugees' (2014).

 

In addition to acting, Fon Dufe is also known for being the brainchild behind the Yefon trilogy. The trilogy, set in 1940 West Africa, portrays a young African village girl who goes against the discriminatory laws of her tribe, which subjugate women, and becomes the spark for a literary revolution.

The debut novel in that series Yefon: The Red Necklace was released in 2014 is set to travel to the silver screen in the future, and Sahndra herself will step into the lead role. Other attached cast members include: Isaiah Washington, Adriana Barraza, Jimmy Jean Louis, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Leleti Khumalo, Uti Nwachukwu and many others with a soundtrack by 7 time Grammy nominated singer  Kelly Price.

 

In 2012, she partnered with the United States Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon, to organize training for young actors through a jointly owned International Workshop called Know Your Craft International. Sahndra also actively supports young female entertainers through an annual scholarship program in Lourdes College,Cameroon. She is also a voice for Project New Bamenda, a project launched to support young Cameroonian entrepreneurs from the North West Region of Cameroon.
